Rose water has made a big difference for many of my clients and we just can't live without it. We use it as a toner. Just as you tone your skin, after cleansing and before applying moisturizer. Adding this extra step to your regimen creates natural shine by sealing your cuticle layer trapping in moisture and protecting the core of your hair from damage. Use daily instead of water to re-wet your curls. Managing natural hair presents many challenges, but moisture retention remains the number one. Once again an oldie, but goodie is here to save the day. Rose water has been used to maintain beauty throughout history. The list of ways you can use rose water in your beauty routine is endless. How and When to Use? Frequent wetting actually dries your hair out making it look dull. Use rosewater to dampen curls for a softer more defined twist out; spray on hair full strength or dilute with distilled water to re wet and bring your twist outs back to life. Using rose water daily instead of regular water helps you hair retain moisture, feel softer, and look shinier. Tone and soften hair: spray hair liberally after rinsing conditioner. Reduce inflammation: spray scalp to relieve itching and dryness. Tone skin: spray on face after cleansing to tighten and soften skin. Refresh Twist Out: Mist lightly before re twisting Aromatherapy: Mist all over your body and home Revitalize style: Spray on protective style to add moisture Revitalize skin: soak a cotton pad in chilled rose water and apply Why it works: The pH of rosewater is slightly acidic just like your hair and skin! It causes the cuticle layer of your hair to constrict and lay flat protecting strands from potential damage and reflecting light creating a natural shine. Rose water is made by steeping rose petals in water. It seems like a simple enough process, but I have not tried it yet. Maybe I'll get around to it soon.
