This time of year, I’m on the lookout for lots of ways to boost my immune system to keep cold and flu symptoms AWAY! Of course, my fall hair care tip offers the best of both worlds, healthy hair and healthy body. This week I made these lemon ginger shots. Not an original at all, but I wanted to share with you another simple way you can love your natural hair and keep your body healthy too. I took it a step further by making it easy to grab a dose of lemon and ginger every day.
Don’t you just love ginger. I keep it in my kitchen to add to recipes for a little kick and to use in tea and smoothies. Ginger is great for your natural hair as well as your body. It contains natural anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties that keep your scalp healthy and clean.
There are conditioners you can make using ginger that make your hair more manageable softer and shinier, but I want to show you ways to focus on treating your body to get healthy natural results in your hair.
I'm sure you know how amazing lemon is for our bodies so I won't bore you with the scientific details. Lemons are another staple food I keep in my kitchen for cooking and cleaning.
I know everyone doesn’t have the know how or skills to do their own natural hair, but you can still make changes that have a huge impact on the health of your hair. In my opinion, the easy way to healthy natural hair is by feeding your body healthy food. It's what you put inside matters most.
To make lemon ginger shots
To make lemon ginger shots, wash ginger and slice into thin pieces. Peel and remove seeds from lemon. I sliced them to make blending easier. Add Throw it all in a blender and let the magic happen
To make frozen bombs, as I like to call them, simply pour the juice into ice cube trays or molds. I used these cute lemon slice molds that I happened to already have on hand. Once frozen you can transfer to a zip lock bag and free up your trays so you can make more.
They are so good you are going to want to keep these throughout the cold season because they are good for your body and they keep your natural hair growing long and healthy.
I didn’t measure. To give you an idea of how much, I used about 1-inch piece of ginger and 1 lemon to fill up these little shot glasses and my tray.
