Cold winter air outside, cozy heat inside, and fuzzy winter gear are all out to zap moisture from your skin and hair this winter. Your hair and scalp will get dry and itchy as winter weather gets underway. Over the years, I have noticed clients start to complain about itching and unusual shedding in November once the effects of winter have set in good. Winter's harshness may show up as an itchy scalp, excessive shedding, or strands that break easily. If this is the case for you, your body is telling you that you need to nurture your scalp and hair better. Now is the time to start if you haven't already. You'll need to take preventive measures both internally and topically to keep your curls hydrated during winter months.
